SCCU RR Champs July 20th, 2008 |
|
|
Gary Dodd, last years winner overall and Andrew Bye, last years SCCU RR champion have joined forces in the same Sigma Sport squad, which is the biggest team in this years race at six strong.
Sigma Sport may well have the biggest team, but there are lost of classy riders they will have to contend with if they want to take away the big prizes, riders such as Daniel Patten, Adam Norris, Roy Chamberlain, Jonathon Tiernan-Locke and even Ben Luckwell.
This should be a tough race on rolling terrain, finishing with the 1.2 mile climb upto Leith Hill, the highest point in South East England.

SCCU Open 50 - June 29th, 2008 |
|
|
In it's first year as an Open event in order to be a BBAR qualifier the Southern Counties Cycling Union 50m TT is benefitting from a full field plus 2 reserves.
On paper the main event will be a close fought 4 way battle between Laurence Harding, Keith Coffey, Tim Mardall and Steve Dennis and with the latter 3 all being Counties members there should be an equal tussle for the Counties win.
Tamar Collis is a likely winner of the Ladies event, with Fiona Lawrence and Debbie Percival being the main contenders against her.
Evergreen Harry Featherstone should win the Veterans award, but he might not be an easy winner.
On paper the Bec CC should be the team winners, but Addiscombe CC, Lewes Wanderers, Eastbourne Rovers and East Grinstead have all fielded quality teams.
Finally with almost a quarter of the field novices at the distance or not having ridden the distance in the last 4 years, there could well be some surprises in the result
